Since I've been dabbling in paint for about 40 years, I figured it's time to take the craft of painting a little more seriously. Paradoxically, this means having more fun with it as well. Over the years, I've played with various art methods, such as pencils, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic and oils. I've taken various classes and workshops to try to improve techniques. Lately, I'm putting all my effort into oil painting.
I joined a few art organizations: Connecticut Plein Air Painters Society (CPAPS), Lyme Art Association (LAA), and Tobacco Valley Art Association (TVAA). When I can, I go to their demonstrations, workshops, and paint outs.
For recent learning, I've been following a few artist's blogs. Since I was finding this a helpful way to learn, I thought I'd also try posting a blog. Maybe some of what I learn along the way will benefit someone else who is a struggling artist.
